“Inert” U.S. Labor Market Good for WC (Feb. ’25)

An article in S&P Global described the U.S. labor market as “inert” meaning a moderate pace of new hires and fires and relatively low levels of separation (voluntary departures). In our February Assured Briefing we described that as a “Tastes great, less filling” scenario for workers’ comp insurers. Fewer claims but less premiums.
